Science Experiment: Gases

Gases made our balloon blow up.
First, we put baking soda in a big bottle.
Then we put vinegar in a cup and poured it in the bottle.
When we put vinegar in it bubbled.
Then we put a balloon on the bottle and it blew up.
The balloon filled with gas.

Story: Going to the Aquarium

When we first got there I went in the rumbling station.  The rumbling station was fun.
We made bubbles by waving our arms.
There is a starfish that smells like garlic when it gets scared.
I dropped shells and muscles and rocks down a deep pool.  That's where we can't touch anything.
The anemones were sticky.
I saw a hermit crab crawling on the sea anemone.
I touched sea urchins.  I am very surprised that they are spikey.
Going to the aquarium was fun.

Story: A Mummy and J Day

We're going to the beach today.
We'll bring some sand toys.
Sand toys are fun.
We're going to go on a walk to get there.
It's fun to walk.
I do not like to drive.
All the ocean water is cold.
The sand is fun.
Mummy could cover me under the sand in a big sand ball.
We could find magic rocks.
We find ships floating by our house.
I like digging big holes.
I like the sand creatures.
We will find some shells today.

Story: Building LEGO

I have a LEGO conveyor.
We built interesting trucks.
I play with the trucks.
I have a big truck that can hold too many things.
We will build the LEGO mine.
We are going to build a big crane.
The instructions tell me how to build that big dump truck.
We built the driller.
If you turn the back of the driller it will drill the mine.
The LEGO colours are pretty.

Story: Colouring Pictures

I draw pictures of galaxies.
I draw pictures of camels.
I draw pictures of circles and then I draw pictures of squares.
I draw with pencil crayons and crayons and ink.
I draw magma in the volcanoes.
I draw storybooks.
They are neat.
It is nice to bring pictures and books to people.
It is fun to draw pictures of rainbows.
It is fun to draw people too.

Story: Robot Vacuum

The robot vacuum is really neat!
The robot vacuum sucks up bits.
If a red light flashes on the vacuum it means that we have to charge its batteries at its home.
The lighthouse blocks the robot vacuum from going anywhere else.
If the green light flashes on the lighthouse that means that the battery is running out.
Under the robot vacuum there is a little spinner that picks up the bits.
If the vacuum misses its home it tries again!

Science: Solids, Liquids and Gases (Part 2)

We put ice into a cup.
Ice is a solid.
We put the cup into hot water.
The ice cubes melted away.
They became water.
Water is a liquid.
We put the water in a pan on the stove.
The water went away.
It became a gas.
The stove is hot.
Heat made the liquid change to a different state of matter.
We also put water in the freezer and it turned into an ice cube.
Cold changed a liquid to a solid.
